Kreativ Vibz is a community art program that promotes creative development through multi-disciplinary arts education and enrichment. Our mission is to empower and connect our community through the arts.
Whether creating a masterpiece to pay homage to famous artists such as Jean Michel Basquiat or performing a live musical production – one of the main goals of this program is to encourage participants to develop an appreciation for creative expression through all things art. Having an appreciation for art helps us to develop an appreciation for each other and how we are all unique in our own way.
Our curriculum was designed to cover a variety of areas related to the arts. We offer classes focused on developing a material or technique, such as working with clay, drawing, or printmaking. We engage in activities focused on exploring themes, such as abstraction, the seasons, portraiture and more. We learn to appreciate art history by creating projects covering specific periods, cultures, or styles, such as the Art of Ancient Egypt or Modern European Art. Participants are given the opportunity to showcase the artwork they created over the course of the year in an art exhibition.
In 2020 Kreativ Vibz partnered with Triumphant Leaders Youth Mentoring to offer art classes to youth residing in Ward 8. For 6-8 weeks art classes are held on a weekly basis for no more than 2 hours. Currently we meet every Tuesday for #ArtNDaPark.
