A Stageplay Review
Hello Love Muffins,
Just want to share my review of Grease With A Side Of Mumbo Sauce at Bethesda Blues and Jazz Supper Club. I absolutely love this venue! Their crab cakes with asparagus and mashed potatoes were delish.
Let me first start off by saying the original Grease with John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John (may she rest in peace) is my absolute favorite movie/musical. So when I heard talks of the remake with some go-go flavor added to it, I had to see it! I encourage everyone to look up the backstory of the writers Mr. & Mrs. Lovail Long. Their journey is amazing.
Now when you think of the original and then a remake, there comes high expectations. I thought they did a phenomenal job! The additions were on point. I liked how they took us on a go-go journey yet kept the storyline. Look forward to lots of laughs, heartfelt moments, and great music. All the talent was amazing. I love our city! has it's own flavor!! This is definitely a must-see.
It was a refreshing play with several messages for the audience. The film was engaging and keeps your interest throughout the film. The soundtrack and footage gives it that DC flavor. The message touches on what's relevant to the youth today. It speaks on how the men should reach back and mentor them to dream big and don't lose hope. This is a christian based film for all ages. You won't be disappointed.
